| Description | Regnskogsföreningen was established in 2010. The aim is to protect large areas of tropical forests for a regional and global impact on biodiversity and climate change through support to local communities. The point of departure is to work with people who live in the rainforest, as they are the forests natural guardians. Indigenous and other forest-dwelling people are crucial actors that are strengthened by increased capacity to work with local government, civil society and private sector. RF works in two main areas of the Brazilian Amazon: the Karib corridor and the southern part of the state of Amazonas, and in an Amazon-wide project targeting the main driver of deforestation, raising of beef cattle. |
