Description Integrated Development Facility is a community based Non-Governmental Organization registered in Kenya. Founded in the year 1999, the organization seeks to address the multifaceted challenges of governance, HIV/AIDS, TB & Malaria pandemic compounded by diminished education and reduced economic opportunities among the people of Homabay County. IDF is a registered Kenyan Civil Society Organization (CSO), legally recognized as a Public Benefit Organisation under the PBORA Act. IDF has operated continuously in Kenya since its inception 1999. IDF has its head office in Kadongo, Homabay county IDF has an established physical and operational presence in Homa Bay, Kisumu, Siaya, Vihiga, Nyamira, Meru and Tharaka Nithi Counties of Kenya. Our Mission: To harmonize and consolidate local efforts through community empowerment in health, education, socio-economic, and environmental areas. Environment and Climate Resilience Core Area of expertise IDF is a human rights, social justice, and non-state and non-profit organization with presence in Homabay, Nyamira, Vihiga, Kakamega, Tharaka Nithi, Meru and Kisii Counties. IDF’s focus are on the areas of health, gender and economic empowerment, human rights, governance/resource mobilization, education and social sector with a mission to harmonize and consolidate local efforts through community empowerment and partnership building to tackle community challenges in health, education, socio-economic and environmental concerns. IDF’s Experience and community development history. Integrated Development Facility (IDF) is a locally registered development organization with a strong presence in Homabay County. IDF is currently implementing an OVC program dubbed USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto funded by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), is being implemented by a PATH Kenya–led consortium of Kenyan non-governmental organizations over a five-year period (March 18, 2021, through March 17, 2026). USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto is a service delivery project at the county level that provides HIV services to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and to adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Homa Bay. Through this project, IDF has developed a network of caregivers enrolled in various village saving and loaning associations/groups majority of whom are involved in smallholder farming activities and small-scale businesses. On the other hand, in partnership with URAIA TRUST, IDF also implements ‘Kuimarisha Kaunti II project (2021-2023)’, a project that aims at increasing responsiveness and accountability in Kenya’s Public Space. This is a 3-year project meant to: increase responsiveness and accountability in Homa Bay public space by building knowledge and strengthening the skills of citizens and duty bearers to promote Constitutionalism, adherence to the rule of law and to monitor service delivery. The project further support government agencies to develop or review policies and legislations that enhance improved service delivery. In addition, IDF Kenya is a Sub Recipient of AMREF Health Africa in implementing The Global Fund Malaria Project (2021-2024) in four Sub Counties of Homa Bay County namely; Rachuonyo East, Rachuonyo North, Mbita, and Suba. Through Community strategy, the project uses community case management of malaria approach to ensure suspected uncomplicated malaria cases Community Health Volunteers from the 4 sub counties. Again, in partnership with the Government of Japan, through the Japanese Embassy in Kenya, IDF through Yamaha Motors is implementing a community-based water supply project in Seka Kagwa, Homabay County, which seeks to benefit over 1200 families, two secondary schools and health facility within the areaare tested and promptly managed at the community level by trained community health volunteers. The project supports a total of 1,140. As evidenced in the implementation of the above projects, IDF has exhibited and continue to exhibit highest levels of accountability in the implementation of its programs, adherence to the government statutory requirements and compliance with employee engagement labour laws.
