Established following the transition of HelpAge International’s operations in the country, HANU serves as an umbrella body that coordinates, supports, and strengthens the efforts of member organizations promoting healthy ageing, social protection, and age-responsive development. The network engages in policy advocacy, research, capacity building, and partnership development to ensure older persons are integrated into national health, social, and economic systems. HANU operates through a secretariat hosted by Health Nest Uganda and collaborates closely with government agencies, civil society, and international partners to improve the quality of life for Uganda’s 2.3 million older persons. |
