| Description | The Fairtrade Sweden Association (FTS) is a non-profit organization with the purpose of realising the vision of fair global trade, where smallholder farmers and workers in countries affected by widespread poverty can enjoy secure and sustainable livelihoods, fulfil their potential and decide on their future. When the social and economic conditions for producers are improved (through better prices and decent working conditions), they are better able to address environmental and human rights factors, thereby increasing the long-term potential for sustainable development. In collaboration with its 30 member organizations in Sweden, FTS works to increase knowledge and engagement and improved public policies that enable sustainable trade and increased production and consumption of sustainable products (SDG12). Among FTS members are trade unions, the Swedish Church, development organisations and youth organisations. The work is carried out within the framework of Fairtrade International (FI), the international umbrella organisation of the Fairtrade Network. |
